3 Week Birthday!
** I wrote this yesterday, but never got it posted… Last night we had a slight setback… Asher’s body temperature dropped too low in the big boy bed and he had to be put back into the full isolet to get his temps regulated. He is getting back on track this morning. I met with our doctor and we will see how his next couple days go and if Saturday will still be a good discharge day…. There is no rush, our team here is just taking it moment by moment with us.
Asher is 3 weeks old today!!!
PRAISE YOU, LORD!!!
Thank YOU sooo much for joining us on this incredible faith-filled adventure of watching our God do the miraculous in our little man’s life. We couldn’t have done this without ALL OF YOU! You have come alongside of us in every way imaginable and we are beyond grateful. May God bless you one hundred fold as you have blessed us.
We have been wow’ed daily over the past almost 90 days here at Miami Valley Hospital and are now turning the corner into new experiences beyond the walls of this place we have called home for so long… Only God could explain how 90 Days, a quarter of 2019, would be so peaceful, joy filled, purposeful, and live-giving for our little family.
We just got the news that Asher has a DISCHARGE DAY planned for THIS SATURDAY! He’s doing so good and barring any setbacks (oxygen desaturation, temp unsteadiness, heart rate, weight loss, eating troubles), we’ll be moving into Team Asher Part IV :: The Real World!
We look back with grateful hearts…
Team Asher Part I :: Maternity 2 - 64 Days of God working a miracle in Asher’s lungs and sending us an amazing medical team and supporting staff to give us daily TLC as God held Asher inside and grew him up for his Birthday, March 12th! .
Team Asher Part II :: NICU 2, High Risk - He has lungs and they are working!!!!
8 Days of coming off all the breathing and jaundice machines, met exceptional nursing staff who cared for Asher's needs at such a significant time after delivery
Team Asher Part III :: NICU 1, Low Risk - 18 Days of growing and learning so many new things. Day by day watching Asher take steps toward living an incredible, thriving life.
Praises:
Moved from NICU 2, High Risk to NICU 1, Low Risk

Feeding tube is out
Nursing continues to be primary for feeding Asher
Bottle feeding began with Daddy (needs to be able to take 3 fortifying bottles at home each day with vitamins)
Circumcised
Was the star of a hospital video (Cuddler’s program - volunteers who hold babies born with addictive patterns from mom)
Moved from the isolet into a little boy bed
Found a local pediatrician
Visit from PK, Pastor Kevin, my Pastor from my Springfield, OH season
Many of you have continued to ask what we need… First of all, THANK YOU for being so kind and caring!!!! We live amazed and blessed by your generosity!!! ! Life is still happening mainly here at the hospital and since I am no longer an admitted patient we are no longer on a meal plan. The cafeteria is a huge blessing and is pretty affordable. Gift cards and monies are the biggest blessing in helping us right now. .A dear friend surprised us and set up a Gofundme to help with ongoing expenses from these months here at MVH and life with our new little man once we get home and really see what we need.
