Trust through the "suddenlies"...

This morning, my attending doctor summed up our journey perfectly with a smile, “a pre-term baby doesn’t follow the rules…” This couldn’t be more true. What a journey of trust in our Jesus!

We would love your prayers… This will be a more graphic post than others…

About 1:30am this morning, I was awakened to one of my many usual pregnancy bathroom trips. But in a matter of moments I realized my greatest pre-labor fear had come true - I had been bleeding… I tried to be calm and call my nurse, but for real I was FREAKING out! The tears were flooding and I was shaking with the thought of all the uncertainties.

Team Asher went into action - sonogram to check Asher’s heart rate, ultrasound to see him and if his head was still down if we needed to move into labor transition, and internal testing to find a possible cause. Because I already have a ruptured membrane they want to minimize internal testing as much as possible, but this was necessary to determine next steps.

We met with doctors throughout the day and have come to conclude that most likely I have had a “placental abruption” where the placenta is detaching from the uterus. This could be a sign of pre-term labor, but we can’t be quite sure what will continue to happen. I am on a stricter bed rest now with the team always nearby for any sudden changes.

We would love your prayers for God stop the bleeding and keep Asher thriving and growing.
