A Day in the Life

Good morning! A new week began yesterday and I think for the first time ever in my life I haven’t felt the outside air for 8 straight days - crazy! God is helping us to embrace each new day. All is still well. Asher is hanging in at 24 weeks and 5 days!

Nothing really new on yesterdays weekly ultrasound except that usually his little arms are up by his face and now he has stretched them out down by his side. That’s actually a bigger deal since he has no fluid and typically wouldn’t be able to move that much. Little Asher is already anything but typical :))))

Many of you have been so sweet and are wondering what we do all day, our address and if we need anything…

Jonny & Hannah Picard - Miami Valley Hospital, Room 2117, One Wyoming Street, Dayton, Ohio 45409-2793 , and I’d say the biggest blessing right now is gift cards for gas, parking tokens and non-hospital food for a special treat during the weeks.

FROM THE RISING OF THE SUN TO PLACE WHERE IT SETS, THE NAME OF THE LORD IS TO BE PRAISED. Psalm 113:3

5:45am, a resident doctor comes in and wakes me up to ask me questions and feel my belly for any possible infections.

6am - Nurse comes in to take vitals and I take off my leg compressors that inflate and deflate all night so I don't get any blood clots. Monday - blood work (still makes me sweat!)

6:30am - another resident doctor comes and pretty much does the same thing as the 5:45 resident.

7-10am - order breakfast, go in and out of a little more sleep, shower, started watching The Today Show, PT exercises, time with the Lord, straighten up my room, hangout and wait for Jonny to arrive.

11am - 10pm - Make new memories :) That’s our goal and trust me it’s nothing fancy lol. Yesterday, we did our laundry at Emmett’s Place (free for NICU families and comes with all the supplies!), got to share a little Praise Pack with my new friend Mary who brings in my meals, played the game Sorry, ate Five Guys with Quinton and Dani (brother/sister-in law) who bring dinner and we have a game night each week, and slow-danced to some sweet country music before Jonny headed back home.
